We will be back at the Ecology Pavilion Mile End Park this Spring on the weekend of April 21st and 22nd. April 22nd is Earth day and to celebrate we are curating the market with a green agenda. The 2018 theme is End Plastic Pollution so we would like to minimise all single use plastics as much as we can.
We know by it’s very nature that handmade is sustainable so we would like to highlight and celebrate this. We will will not only be selecting makers based on their unique designs but also on your sustainable and green practices, packaging and ethics. So if you use fairly made, recycled, upcycled, biodegradable materials and/or packaging, limit your plastics and generally make a positive impact on the planet where you can, please let us know in the application form below. And if you don’t currently use any of the above now’s the time to start. We know that every element of your process may not be green but we want to know what you are doing to contribute.
We are hoping to offer green workshops, sustainable activities for kids, organic, vegan and vegetarian food. And we’ll be encouraging everyone to bring their own re-usable shopping bags (we will be asking all traders to donate some secondhand tote bags to a reusable tote bag basket), straws and coffee cups. More to be announced and any ideas and suggestions are welcome.
